Cosgrove is my favorite character on the show though.

This is a Wimshurst Machine, an electrostatic generator (of a type known as influence machines) (!), and a literal piece of bona-fide Victorian technology (albeit in this case done up in modern materials).

Writing fiction where one of these will probably end up being a literal plot device is a completely legit reason for me to buy one for myself, right?
