May you rest in peace, Anne McCaffrey. Your stories were inspiring, and taught me that girls could ride dragons, too, and be as fierce and strong as the boys.
Credit must also be given to artist Michael Whelan, who did several of the Dragonrider covers. I loved these as a kid, and I still think they’re totally wicked.
This stuff is absolutely iconic to me. Love ‘em all.
